The recent exposure of officials of a military unit in Kyiv region is clearly not the last. This opinion was expressed by political expert Oleksandr Kochetkov in a commentary to UNN.
The fact is that when it comes to supplying food to the army, it is always about stealing or sneaking. And this is true for any army. This is a well-known fact. And, unfortunately, the post-Soviet army is no exception. Not only in civilian life, but there are dishonest people in the army as well. This is the first thing. Secondly, I am convinced that there will be more news about other units and even more high-profile revelations. That these are not isolated cases
Kochetkov emphasizes that only a change in the system of procurement and supply of food to the army will change the situation. And a change in the approach to the number of food items supplied to the army can really have a positive effect.
"A normal, edited food system - yes, of course, it will reduce all these risks. And it will be easier to expose dishonest quartermasters," Kochetkov believes.
Recall
SBI officers jointly with the SBU exposed officials of a military unit in Kyiv region on fraud with food for their personnel worth millions of hryvnias.
The organized group included military personnel and employees of the military unit, who colluded with private entrepreneurs and sold some of the food intended for soldiers in shops, restaurants and markets.
The ministry emphasizes that officials took at least 30% of the food from the warehouse, thus reducing the daily food allowance for the military.
