Police: Russian army hit Kharkiv with Iskanders

The Russian military struck Kharkiv with Iskander missiles, resulting in civilian casualties: one woman was killed and 52 people, including six children, were injured.

The Russian military today attacked Kharkiv with Iskander missiles, the Kharkiv regional police reported, UNN reports.

At least three explosions were reported in Kharkiv this morning. 

The shelling of Kharkiv began in the morning around 7:30. There were at least three explosions. All specialized services promptly arrived at the sites of the hits. Investigators, experts, and explosives experts are collecting material evidence, interviewing witnesses and victims, and documenting the consequences of the shelling. As reported, apartment buildings, outbuildings, civilian infrastructure and cars were damaged.

As of 12:30 p.m., one woman was reportedly killed and 52 people were injured. All of them are civilians.

Among the wounded are six children aged 6 to 13 (four boys and two girls).

According to Volodymyr Tymoshko, head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region, Russians continue to terrorize Kharkiv residents and want to cause panic among the population.

"The shelling was carried out only in the center, and we understand that the Russians did not aim at military objectives for sure," said Volodymyr Tymoshko. - "We believe that the attack was carried out to force Kharkiv residents to leave the city and surrender. This will not happen in any case. We will survive this pain and respond."

Investigative teams, experts and explosive experts continue to work at the scene.

Investigators opened criminal proceedings over the violation of the laws and customs of war under Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
