Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets appealed to the Red Cross and the UN Monitoring Mission after the killing of two Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered to Russians. He said this in a commentary to Suspilne, according to UNN.
Today I have already applied, I have officially sent letters. This is not the first time, and we can assume that, unfortunately, it will not be the last time, when the Russian Federation cynically violates the Geneva Conventions and the entire spectrum of international humanitarian law

Lubinets frankly said that he did not expect "breakthrough results" from the ICRC and the UN, but, according to him, Ukraine should continue to appeal to these organizations, because it is the ICRC that should respond to such cases and communicate with the aggressor to change the situation.
The ombudsman also added that there is no information yet on who exactly was shot by the Russians. But Lubinets wants this murder to be recorded by international bodies and published in the next report of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission.
As a reminder,
on December 2, a video of the killing of unarmed Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered appeared online. This is a war crime in violation of the Geneva Conventions and requires the Red Cross and the UN to take action.
The next day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' StratCom confirmed the war crime.
