Ivasyuk family: party educators in Groysman's "humanitarian headquarters"

Ihor and Iryna Ivasyuk, a political couple associated with former Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman, are accused of illegal activities such as possessing unexplained wealth, and their recent participation in a "humanitarian headquarters" is seen as a PR stunt for Groysman.

Keeping people in inhumane conditions in a psychoneurological institution, buying luxury real estate in Spain, driving drunk during curfew - this is the list of scandals that Ihor and Iryna Ivasyuk are accused of involvement in. The Ivasyuks are a well-known political and educational couple in Vinnytsia from the orbit of former Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman. Now they are involved in the "stormy" activities of the so-called "humanitarian headquarters", which Vinnytsia Mayor Morgunov and Vinnytsia Regional Council Chairman Sokolovy created specifically for the PR of Volodymyr Borisovich, UNN writes .

From mathematicians to humanities

Ihor Ivasiuk began his political career as an ordinary teacher of mathematics and computer science at Vinnytsia school No. 30. In the same school, he rose to the position of principal, from which he jumped to the position of head of the Department of Education and Science of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration in 2005. In 2014, he was promoted to the position of Deputy Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration. He was elected three times to the Vinnytsia City Council.

In 2020, he was elected to the Vinnytsia Regional Council from the Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman (USG) and became the deputy chairman.

In December 2019, the public and members of the regional council demanded that the then head of the regional state administration, Vladyslav Skalskyi, dismiss Ivasyuk from his post because of the scandal surrounding the Plyskiv psychoneurological boarding school. The activists documented gross violations of the rights of the residents of this institution. People were kept in inhumane conditions - completely naked. In a locked room on a cold tiled floor.

The medical sector was within Ivasyuk's sphere of authority, but he managed to hold on to his position. Even though a criminal investigation was opened into this blatant fact.

Local media reported that in 2017, Ivasiuk, through his position as deputy, helped to withdraw almost 1 hectare of land from communal ownership. An elite residential complex was built on 70 acres. According to journalists, Ivasyuk himself got 12 hectares, where his family built a mansion.

Journalists were also surprised by Ivasyuk's wealth. As of January 2021, his declaration listed 100 thousand dollars, 60 thousand euros, and 400 thousand hryvnias, which seemed a bit much for an official with an educational background.

But for a man who was accused by the media of buying luxury real estate in Spain, it may even be too little. Information about this appeared in May 2021. Ivasyuk denied everything, and even promised to sue the journalists.

Wife loves speed

Ihor Ivasyuk's wife, Iryna Ivasyuk, is no less interesting a character. She is an active party activist of the Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman. Together with the mayor of Vinnytsia, Serhiy Morgunov, Ivasyuk is an authorized representative of the regional party organization of the USG and at the same time the head of its secretariat. He is a member of the regional council from this political force. He takes an active part in the work of the aforementioned humanitarian center.

She has one pedagogical degree out of three higher education degrees, which apparently brought her and her husband together, as she did her internship at the same school where he taught. Ivasiuk is currently the director of the Vinnytsia City Centralized Library System, and she is also an entrepreneur, renting out real estate.

According to local media, Iryna Ivasyuk is friends with Maryna Poroshenko, whom she met while studying at the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. It was thanks to this acquaintance that Ivasyuk's political career took off. At least, he became the deputy head of the regional state administration during the term of Petro Poroshenko.

In August of this year, Iryna Ivasyuk was caught drunk driving, and even during the curfew. Ivasyuk explained that she allegedly had to pick up some documents urgently, and so she got into the car. She refused to undergo a sobriety test and agreed to it only two hours after the incident, after a report was drawn up against her.

As the media reported, she tried to resolve the case in court through the head of the regional council, her fellow party member and former Vinnytsia regional prosecutor Vyacheslav Sokolovoy. But, apparently, Groysman's political octopus did not go down well with at least some Vinnytsia judges.

In November, the Vinnytsia Court of Appeal returned Ivasyuk's complaint and thus upheld the decision of the court of first instance of October 10, by which Ivasyuk was found guilty of committing an offense under Part 1 of Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Driving vehicles or vessels by persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants or under the influence of drugs that reduce their attention and reaction time). Then the court fined her 17 thousand hryvnias and deprived her of the right to drive for a year.

When we say "humanitarian headquarters" we mean Groysman's party

Taking into account the political biographies of Ihor and Iryna Ivasiuk, it becomes clear that their presence in the so-called "humanitarian headquarters" is a vivid illustration of the fact that its main purpose is not to help the military and people affected by the war, but to promote Groysman personally and his party collectively.

To recap.

Recently, Groysman's so-called "humanitarian headquarters" got into a scandal again when it was promoting the distribution of food packages for budgetary funds.
