In the capital of Latvia, local authorities urged residents to clean up their basements and adapt them to the requirements of civil defense. This is reported by LSM with reference to the Riga City Council, UNN reports .

Details

The local authorities are asking Riga residents to clean basements from garbage, debris, hazardous substances, structures and objects with sharp edges that could pose additional danger to people.

The city authorities will organize the basements of several municipal buildings. A press conference will be held in the basement of one of the schools to discuss how to better adapt the premises to create shelters. And in the basement of a social assistance center, they will demonstrate the arrangement in practice during a clean-up day.

Basement cleaning should be coordinated with the building management company, as it is also necessary to ensure that the garbage is collected.
