Law enforcement officers have preliminarily established that the 52-year-old driver of a Skoda Octavia hit a pedestrian who was crossing a pedestrian crossing on a scooter.
Police investigators registered the incident in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Art. 286 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers detained the driver in accordance with Art. 208 (Detention by an authorized official) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention center.
The car was seized and taken to the impound lot. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
