In Dnipropetrovs'k region, the head of a district court was caught receiving a $2,500 bribe. He received the money for lifting the seizure of property that was seized in criminal proceedings. This was reported by UNN with reference to the SAPO and NABU.
Details
Reportedly, the head of the court demanded USD 2.5 thousand through an intermediary. The chairman of the court, through an intermediary, demanded USD 2 thousand of unlawful benefit for ruling in favor of a citizen - lifting the seizure of property seized in criminal proceedings.
After receiving the unlawful benefit, the judge ruled to lift the arrest.
The mediator is currently detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
Priority investigative actions are ongoing. Based on the results of the searches, the funds that were received and distributed as an illegal benefit have already been seized.
The issue of serving a notice of suspicion to the chairman of one of the district courts and the mediator is being resolved.
