The higher anti-corruption court sentenced the head of one of the district courts of the Vinnytsia region to 7 years in prison, who demanded a bribe for a "positive solution" to the land issue. This was reported by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Details
Law enforcement officials do not name the suspect, but the details of the case indicate that it is the head of the Tyvriv District Court of Vinnytsia region Ihor Ratushniak.
The court found the judge guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 7 years in prison with disqualification to hold positions in courts for a period of 3 years and confiscation of part of his property
It is noted that the verdict of the High Anti-Corruption Court comes into force thirty days after its announcement, unless it is appealed to the HACC Appeals Chamber.
Addendum
The pre-trial investigation found that in August 2021, the judge requested that he receive an unlawful benefit through an intermediary in the amount of UAH 40,000 for each hectare of land, which, given the land area of 3.09 hectares, amounts to UAH 120,000 (USD 4,620), for making a decision to recognize the ownership of this land share (unit) for an individual.
As a result, NABU detectives, together with the Department of Strategic Investigations in Vinnytsia region of the National Police's SID, documented two facts of transfer of funds - USD 3 thousand and USD 1,620.
