Government allocates UAH 8.5 billion to restore water supply in southern regions

As a result of Russia's aggression, southern regions of Ukraine have experienced problems with water supply. The government has allocated UAH 8.5 billion to solve them. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, quoted by the government portal, UNN reports.

As a result of Russia's blowing up of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant and constant shelling, some settlements in southern Ukraine have faced water supply problems. Back in the summer, work was started on laying water mains in the areas of Ingulets - Kriazheve (Kryvyi Rih), Pokrov - Nikopol - Marhanets and Zaporizhzhia - Tomakivka - Marhanets. In total, the government has allocated UAH 8.5 billion for this purpose

Details

A meeting was held today to discuss the implementation of water mains construction projects. The meeting participants heard information about the current state of work and the need for additional funding.

According to the State Agency for Reconstruction, the necessary equipment has been delivered, the construction of water pipelines is underway, and results are expected early next year.

The officials also discussed a comprehensive solution to the water supply problem in Mykolaiv.
