In Ivano-Frankivsk, police detained a "criminal authority". He is suspected of spreading criminal influence on the outside and in pre-trial detention centers and drug trafficking. This was reported on Thursday by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine, UNN reports.

According to law enforcement, the man, who had connections and influence in the criminal community, set up drug trafficking to the pre-trial detention center. In addition, he tried to establish relations with "thieves in law" and further obtain the status of "overseer" of Ivano-Frankivsk region.
During his stay in the pre-trial detention center, where he was placed for shooting at the victims, the "criminal authority" reportedly systematically violated the rules of detention, ignored the legal demands of the staff and used physical violence against his cellmates.
Later, the man was released from the pre-trial detention center on bail, but the defendant did not stop his illegal activities, the police said.
The suspect was detained and served a notice of suspicion under Part 1, Part 2 of Art. 255-1 (Establishment or distribution of criminal influence) and Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The offender was sentenced to 60 days in custody without the right to be released on bail. Now the "authority" faces to 15 years in prison.
