The day before, a man was killed and his son, an 11-year-old boy, was seriously wounded in the village of Novooosynove as a result of enemy shelling. Doctors did their best, but the extent of the injury was incompatible with life, and the boy died.
The head of the RVA said that the 11-year-old boy, along with his mother and another child from the family, was evacuated from the village to Kharkiv in late November last year.
The village of Novoosynove in the Kuryliv community is located on the left bank of the Oskil River and is subject to forced evacuation of children with their parents or guardians. This family resisted the evacuation for a long time, but on 23.11.2023, the mother and two children left for Kharkiv three weeks after the evacuation was announced.
However, the family decided to return to their "home" despite the danger.
Many people think that the trouble will definitely bypass them, that the danger concerns everyone but them, that nothing will happen to them, that it is safer here, and so on.
