"The detonation continues, so once again I ask you to remain calm, be as cautious as possible and comply with all the requirements of the security services. The situation is under control, the necessary forces and means are deployed," the head of the Ostroh district, Sergey Khoroshilov, wrote on social media.
As of 12 o'clock, the detonition had already lasted for 8 hours.
Earlier, the governor of the region, Alexander Gusev, reported a fire that caused "the detonation of explosive objects" in the Ostrogog district. A state of emergency was declared in three settlements, and about 200 residents were evacuated.
