On New Year's Eve, the Defense Forces destroyed a record number of Shahed attack drones launched by Russian troops in the skies over Ukraine - 87 out of 90. This was reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, UNN reports.

Details
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the drone attack was carried out in waves from four directions: Cape Chauda, Balaklava - Crimea, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk - Russia.
The enemy also fired four S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kharkiv region, three X-31P anti-radar missiles and one X-59 from the TOTs of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Air alert was declared in most regions of Ukraine along the route of the drones.
In fact, air defense was operating in all regions. The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces, fighter aircraft and anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force.
