One X-47M Kinzhal air defense missile was shot down in Kyiv during one of the air drills on December 14. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command Yuriy Ihnat on Kyiv24, UNN reports.
"Today there were both false and real applications of X-47M Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MIG-31K aircraft. There were 3 planes in the first wave," said Yuriy Ihnat and added that the explosionsheard in the capital "were the work of air defense and the downing of one missile."
Details
Ihnat explained that today the Air Force had information about the takeoff of the MIG-31K. Therefore, at 14:09 an air alert was announced throughout Ukraine and, accordingly, at 14:20 there were arrivals in Khmelnytsky region. That is, 10 minutes passed from the announcement of the air alert to the arrivals in the central part of Ukraine. According to the spokesperson, this much time is available at best, because information about the takeoff of planes is not always available, so Ukrainians should not hesitate, and if there is a real threat of an attack, immediately go to the shelter.
