Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov invited Turkey to join the Maritime Coalition to protect shipping and the "grain corridor" from Russian interference. Turkey promised to continue supporting Ukraine.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, during a meeting with the new Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Levent Bilgen, invited Turkey to join the Maritime Coalition, which aims to stop Russia's interference with freedom of navigation, in particular in the functioning of the "grain corridor," the Defense Ministry reports UNN.

"We are grateful to Turkey for supporting Ukraine from the first day of the full-scale invasion in ensuring the security of the Black Sea. We invite Turkey to join the Maritime Coalition," Rustem Umerov said.

The parties also discussed potential cooperation in defense production. Ambassador Levent Bilgen emphasized that Turkey's comprehensive support for Ukraine will continue.
