The first group of Ukrainian pilots has undergone basic training with the Royal Air Force before learning to fly F-16 fighter jets in Denmark, the UK Ministry of Defense reported on Tuesday, UNN reports.

"The first group of Ukrainian pilots trained by the Royal Air Force are now learning to fly F-16 fighter jets in Denmark after completing a basic training program in the UK," the UK Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
It is noted that the UK Air Force began conducting piloting and English language training in August. The group was formed of six experienced Ukrainian pilots, and ten other Ukrainian trainee pilots took part in the language training and remained in the UK, the UK Ministry of Defense reported.
The program is designed to provide trainee pilots with the skills necessary to move on to the next stage of training on fighter aircraft in partner countries and to bring future Ukrainian pilots closer to NATO's standard approach to flying.
Pilots undergoing the basic flight training program reportedly conduct practical training on Grob Tutor aircraft with experienced British Air Force instructors.
In addition to pilot training, dozens of Ukrainian aviation technicians are also being trained in English, with a focus on engineering, the British Defense Ministry said.
Reportedly, "after graduating from the UK Air Force, the pilots will be trained in another European country in an advanced flight training program. This will prepare them to train on F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft under the supervision of Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States, which lead the Air Force Capability Coalition."
