In Zakarpattia region, an electric train was blocked by falling stones from a mountain, and a partial derailment was reported. The passengers were evacuated by road, and the Kyiv-Chop train will be detoured, Ukrzaliznytsia reported on Saturday, UNN reported.
"Changes in train traffic on the Syanky - Mukachevo section in Transcarpathia. Due to the fall of stones from the mountain, the electric train is blocked on the stretch. Previously, two wheelsets had gone off the rails. The speed of the train was below the permitted speed, so there were no injuries," UZ said in a statement on social media.
As indicated, Ukrzaliznytsia is already delivering all passengers to their destinations by road.
"To minimize delays, train No. 59 Kyiv - Chop will be sent to bypass this section," UZ said.
As indicated, a railroad recovery team is working at the site to unblock traffic as soon as possible.
