A Stockholm court has dismissed Elon Musk's Tesla lawsuit against PostNord, ruling that the postal service is not obliged to deliver Tesla license plates during a workers' strike. Tesla is facing delivery problems in Sweden, a key European market.

A Stockholm court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Tesla electric car maker Elon Musk against the PostNord postal company. This is reported by Reuters with reference to UNN.

Details

Tesla sued PostNord the day before because the postal company's employees stopped delivering license plates for new cars in protest.

Instead, a Swedish court ruled that PostNord has no such obligation at this time.

Last week, employees of the postal company joined the strike of IF Metall, a union that includes workers of the Swedish Tesla factory, in solidarity. They have been demanding a collective labor agreement since the end of October .

Supplement

For the American electric car manufacturer, the Nordic market is the key market in Europe. Last year, Sweden became Tesla's fifth largest market, and its Model Y is the best-selling car in the country this year.

However, Tesla does not agree to collective bargaining on principle and claims that its employees have the same or even better conditions than those demanded by IF Metall.

For reference

The Swedish trade union IF Metall, which unites representatives of the metallurgical and automotive industries, has been on strike at Tesla's facilities in Sweden since the end of October, demanding more favorable collective bargaining agreements.

Several other unions have joined the strike, including postal workers. Because of this, Tesla cannot deliver license plates for newly registered cars.

To recap

Elon Musk, the owner of the social network X and the company Tesla Motors, presented an electric car Cybertruck. The electric car was presented back in 2019, but it went on sale only now.
