The ship was part of the Ukrainian Navy and the occupiers managed to capture it only on the night of March 26, 2014 - they stormed the minesweeper with the help of two Mi-35 helicopters and three boats.
The crew left the ship the next day, heading for mainland Ukraine. The last to leave to leave the ship was commander Yuriy Fedash. The Cherkasy City Council, in gratitude to gratitude for his actions during the blockade, the Cherkasy City Council awarded him the title of honorary citizen of Cherkasy.
