Scholz told Orban in the presence of other leaders that if he really did not want to agree, he could leave the room, so that EU leaders could make a unanimous decision on enlargement in his absence. the newspaper writes, citing two officials briefed on the the talks.
However, this proposal did not arise spontaneously, but was agreed upon during previous discussions, one of the officials said. A third official said that Orban "was momentarily absent from the room in a a previously agreed upon and constructive manner."
