Earlier, many areas of Crimea experienced emergency power outages. Yalta, Yevpatoria, Alushta, and Simferopol were partially cut off from electricity. According to Russian Head of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov, the power outage was caused by abnormally hot weather. Massive power outages were also reported in Kerch and Feodosia.
