"It's time to act, Ukraine.": a hub for adapting demobilized servicemen to civilian life has been launched in Cherkasy region

A veterans ' center was opened in Cherkasy region thanks to the soil in the amount of 100 thousand hryvnias from the MHP-Hromada charity organization to help demobilized military personnel, veterans and displaced persons adapt to civilian life.

Winners of the contest of Social Initiatives "time to act, Ukraine."we have opened the "veteran space" to adapt to civilian life of demobilized military personnel and veterans, and to help internally displaced persons. This is reported by MHP-Urozhay, reports UNN.

The project aims to identify the needs of the relevant category of the population on the ground and create all conditions for social support and assistance in rehabilitation. For its implementation, the community received a grant in the amount of 100 thousand UAH from the MHP-Hromada charitable foundation.   the same amount was allocated from the local budget on the terms of co-financing.

The space was equipped on the basis of the KZ "Center for providing social services" of the Leskovsky village council in the premises of the headman of the village of Khudyaki.

according to the director of the Center Zoya PiS'ennaya, not only veterans and their families, internally displaced persons, but also all residents of the community in need can apply to the Veterans ' Hub. After all, as part of the project, walkers, canes, and crutches were purchased for the rehabilitation of people with limited mobility.

rehabilitation funds will be issued to residents of the community free of charge. Also, on the basis of the hub, a rental point for technical and other rehabilitation equipment was set up.

"I would like there to be no need in the veterans' space, so that the war ends, and the military returns alive and well. But we understand that questions and problems related to the adaptation of the military will arise. Communities should already work to create spaces that will become a real place of help and support that veterans need," says Nikolai Efremtsev, a representative of MHP - Hromada.

Contest "time to act, Ukraine."this is the fourth consecutive year. A record number of applications for participation in the contest were submitted this year - 837.

"this year, initiatives from charitable and public organizations were actively submitted - these are 151 projects. Many of the proposals are aimed at developing public spaces, educational and medical projects, and infrastructure in small towns and villages. Experts of the competition committee also noted initiatives aimed at rehabilitation and preservation of traditions and cultural heritage," adds Vladimir Panchenko, head of national projects of the MHP - Hromada charitable foundation.


the competition Budget is almost UAH 13 million. the grant competition covers 12 regions of Ukraine.
