It will be difficult to resume operations after the de-occupation of ZNPP without the Kakhovka reservoir, as there will be simply not enough water to cool all the units.
This was announced during a briefing in the Media Centre of Ukraine by Hryhoriy Plachkov, former Chairman of the State Nuclear Regulation Inspectorate, reports UNN correspondent.
Without the Kakhovka Reservoir, it will be very difficult to restore NPP operation, because there will not be enough water for cooling and electricity generation for all power units
According to him, the Russians will do everything to prevent us from exploiting it immediately.
"One of their ideas is to make it so that either we will have to repair this plant for a very long time or we will not be able to return it to commercial operation," he added.
Recall
Water has started to flow into the Kakhovka reservoir again. Recent satellite imagery shows that a large part of the previously dried up area of the former reservoir is now covered with water.
