10-year-old Ekaterina from the village of Rudnitskoe makes a charm out of thread for her military father. He was wounded on the front line. Now he is recovering in one of the hospitals in Kiev. The girl and her parents lived in Kharkiv before the full-scale war, then moved to the village of Rudnitskoye in the Kiev region. Due to the fact that the school in the village was destroyed, at first Ekaterina studied online. And since the beginning of this school year, he has been traveling to a neighboring village by bus. I have already come to the newly created educational hub several times for master classes. This time-until December 6, amulets are made here for the military, reports UNN.
"I will give mine to the pope so that he may be protected. Dad is now in a hospital in Kiev, he feels very bad, because he was shot through with two bullets in the war. He already has many awards. We'll visit him at the hospital this weekend. And I really believe that my amulet will help him recover faster and return home," says Ekaterina.
The Village of Rudnitskoye was under occupation for a month. During this period, more than 50 houses of local residents were destroyed or significantly damaged. The school also came under fire. The Russian military fired at it from tanks and other weapons. And before the retreat, the invaders burned down the entire second floor, before taking all the equipment and some of the furniture.
"Before the full-scale war, our school had 127 students and pre-school students. It was a modern school, equipped with everything necessary. In March 2022, the invaders set up a headquarters on the first floor of the school and looted all the property. Now children from the village of Rudnitskoye go to school in the neighboring village of Lukyanovka. But in winter, weather conditions do not always allow you to get to the educational institution. When there were snowfalls the other day, the children could not get to the neighboring village. Therefore, it is wonderful that from now on our children have a hub where they can gather, attend clubs and master classes, study, socialize," said Anatoly Tupitsa, head of the Rudnitsky gymnasium branch.
The project to create an educational hub lasted 6 months. First, the premises in the local House of culture were renovated. Here it was necessary to cover the roof, because the roof was leaking, completely change the floor, paint the walls. Then we purchased furniture and necessary equipment.the team of the MHP-Hromada Charitable Foundation received support for this from Isar unity within the framework of the USAID project "initiatives for sectoral support of civil society".
"Our foundation has been supporting the community in this village for several years. In 2021, we implemented a cultural workshop in Rudnitsky. Immediately after the de-occupation, the Houses of local residents were restored here. This fall, a memorial square was created. They also understood that children need space for leisure and study. Therefore, together with our partners, we organized one, providing it with furniture and necessary equipment: a screen, a projector, a printer, a laptop. Extracurricular socialization is especially important for children. Because this means reducing stress, refocusing on other activities, and additional knowledge. And since these children will be rebuilding Ukraine in a few years, it is an important mission of our foundation to help them now," said Alexander Pakholyuk, head of the Department of attracting social investments and partnerships at MHP – Hromada charity foundation.
For the next six months, training programs and trainings will be implemented in the hub's premises by philanthropists. So, next week a master class is planned from employees of the state emergency service on mine and Explosive safety, workshops on stress resistance, and so on.
