The European Commission today granted Ukraine another 1.5 billion euros in macro-financial assistance, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Wednesday, UNN reports.
Europe's funding has supported Ukraine's economic stability and public services since the start of Russia’s war. Today we disburse a new €1.5 billion, von der Leyen said in the social network X.

According to the head of the European Commission, the EU's assistance to Ukraine has now reached 85 billion euros.
"More will come. We have proposed €50 billion for Ukraine until 2027," von der Leyen said.

On November 9, 2022, the European Commission proposed to provide Ukraine with €18 billion in loan support for 2023 through a new microfinance assistance instrument, MFA+. On December 14, 2022, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU adopted the relevant decision. The European Commission and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding and a credit line agreement on January 16, both of which entered into force on the same day. The first tranche of €3 billion was disbursed on January 17, 2023.
