Since the occupation of the Crimean peninsula, 24 people have been reported missing with no information, 18 of them are representatives of the indigenous Crimean Tatar people. These figures were published by the Crimean Tatar Resource Center. They also added a list of names of people who disappeared during the occupation, which is also published by UNN.

Unfortunately, the Kremlin-controlled de facto Crimean authorities are only creating the appearance of investigating these cases, despite the fact that according to UN General Assembly Resolution A/RES/71/205, Russia is named an occupying power and is responsible for human rights on this territory.
The center added that their experts have repeatedly raised the issue of these blatant human rights violations at international forums such as the UN, OSCE, and PACE. Representatives of the largest international communities concerned with the welfare of people are informed about the arrests, detentions and abductions of people in Crimea, which the Russian authorities there use as a way to pressure and intimidate the indigenous Crimean Tatar people and pro-Ukrainian activists.
