Cherniak is suspected of financing Russian aggression through his companies, which paid about UAH 6 billion in taxes to Russia

The Security Service has collected evidence against the owner of one of Ukraine's largest alcohol holdings, Yevhen Cherniak, who is suspected of financing Russia's armed aggression, UNN reports with reference to the SBU.

According to the SBU, despite the full-scale invasion, his companies continued to do business with the aggressor country.

It has been established that in 2022, his subordinate enterprises transferred about 6 billion in hryvnia equivalent to the budget of the Russian Federation in the form of taxes and fees alone.

It is documented that the defendant's enterprises, located in four countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus, purchased industrial volumes of alcohol and other related products from Russia.

During the searches of the holding's office premises in Ukraine, documents and other material evidence of illegal activities in favor of the aggressor country were found.

... Chernyak and 6 other top managers of his companies were served with a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 28, Article 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (aiding the aggressor state committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons)

According to the SBU, the issue of seizing their private and corporate property for transfer to the management of the ARMA is being decided.

The investigation was conducted under the supervision of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
