During a meeting of the Irpin City Council, activists brought a certificate of detention to MP Pikulik. Pikulik is involved in scandals of raiding and illegal enrichment, having failed to declare property worth hundreds of millions.

The activists brought MP Oleksandr Pikulyk a certificate for detention in a pre-trial detention center in a cell with improved conditions. The action took place right during a meeting of the Irpin City Council, reports UNN with reference to UNIAN.

The chairman of the Batkivshchyna faction was absent from the session, so the certificate was handed over to the mayor, Oleksandr Markushyn. He, in turn, promised to pass it on to Oleksandr Pikulyk.

According to media reports, Markushyn and Pikulyk have a long-standing relationship. In particular, the My Kyivshchyna publication recently published an investigation into the embezzlement of the local budget through the registration of “dead souls,” kickbacks from the salaries of executive committee employees, and Oleksandr Markushyn's falsification of the session's decisions to approve staffing lists. Such manipulations with salaries resulted in approximately UAH 17 million being siphoned off in 2023 alone.

Journalists noted that it was Pikulik who paid for the services of lawyers for Markushyn's people. As the mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn, is currently involved in five criminal proceedings being investigated by the National Police and the Prosecutor's Office.

At the same time, Oleksandr Pikulyk is involved in several scandals related to raiding, illicit enrichment and false declarations. He failed to declare property worth hundreds of millions of hryvnias. And most of Pikulik's companies are registered to his wife Pustavska, who is not listed in the MP's declaration.

The activists have already appealed to the head of the NACP on this issue.

Earlier, leaflets calling for the prosecution of MP Oleksandr Pikulyk and his associates appeared all over Irpin. The organizers of the campaign claim that he illegally took away apartments from residents of the Central 2 residential complex and is now allegedly blackmailing people.
