The White House on Friday condemned Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for endorsing an anti-Semitic post on social media. This was reported by Politico, according to UNN.
Details
Musk on Wednesday wrote that the post on X "told the real truth" in response to a user who posted an anti-Semitic statement referring to a well-known anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that falsely claims that Jews want to flood the country with non-white people to displace the white population, the publication writes.
White House spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the White House condemns "this disgusting promotion of anti-Semitic and racist hatred in the strongest possible terms."
"It is unacceptable to repeat the disgusting lies behind the most fatal act of anti-Semitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the worst day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust," Bates wrote.
Addendum
Musk's support for the fast, Politico notes, comes amid rising anti-Semitism in the United States following the October 7 Hamas attack on Israel. Bates said that the White House "will continue to condemn anti-Semitism at every turn."
