Ukrainian defenders who were captured by the occupiers are in terrible conditions. During his speech at the international conference "Freedom or Fear", Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets told about a case when a Ukrainian soldier lost 77 kilograms in captivity in Russia, a UNN correspondent reports .

You can see from the photos that when we bring our heroes and heroines home, you can see their condition. The largest officially recorded weight loss of a person in 5 months of Russian captivity is 77 kilograms

- said Dmytro Lubinets.

"When I asked him "What were you fed?" he said: "It was as if it was just colored water," he added.

The Ombudsman emphasized that Ukraine provides decent conditions for Russian prisoners of war. However, the invaders' treatment of Ukrainians violates the Geneva Conventions.

"We don't even know where they are. We don't know their numbers. We don't even have access to verification. No one writes letters to anyone. This system does not work," emphasizes Lubinets.
