Due to the heatwave in Ukraine, power outages are scheduled from 16:00 to 24:00 today, August 21, and Ukrainians are urged to use electricity rationally, especially from 17:00 to 22:00. Imports are planned from five countries. As a result of the fighting in Donetsk region, 55 miners were trapped underground, all of them have been brought to the surface. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy on Wednesday, UNN reports.
Generation and consumption
Yesterday, the planned power outages were implemented in a smaller volume than expected, covering only one stage. Today, the restrictions will be applied during the evening peak consumption period, from 16:00 to 24:00
The agency noted that the blackouts will not affect critical infrastructure enterprises and those that import more than 80% of electricity for their own needs in accordance with government regulations. However, they called for rational use of electricity, especially during peak hours - from 17:00 to 22:00.

There is no electricity export and no plans to export electricity.
For the current day, imports from Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, and Moldova are forecast to reach a maximum capacity of 1212 MW in some hours.
Consequences of shelling
In Donetsk Oblast, the hostilities caused power outages at substations, household consumers and mines. At the time of the incident, there were 55 workers in one of the mines, all of whom were brought to the surface.

In the morning, 24 settlements in the Ternopil region were cut off from electricity due to bad weather.
Over the past day, power engineers restored power to 9206 consumers who were cut off from electricity as a result of hostilities.
In total, 520 settlements remain without power supply as of this morning due to the hostilities and technical violations.
