Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal expects that in December the European Commission will propose a plan to use frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine.

Ukraine expects that the European Commission will present a plan to use Russia's frozen sovereign assets to support Ukraine this month. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting, UNN reports.

The main resource for our reconstruction should be confiscated Russian assets. Everyone understands that this is fair and right. We expect that this month the European Commission will present a plan to use Russia's frozen sovereign assets to support Ukraine

, Shmyhal said.

He recalled that this week a bipartisan and bicameral group of members of Congress introduced a bill to confiscate the assets of sanctioned Russian oligarchs to help rebuild Ukraine.

This document expands the U.S. Department of Justice's forfeiture capabilities and gives it the authority to transfer all proceeds of Russian assets confiscated by the U.S. Government to Ukraine. We urge our partners to move forward

, said Shmyhal.

According to him, both the assets of Russian oligarchs and sovereign assets of Russia should be subject to confiscation.

"This is the only way to show the Kremlin regime that its strategy of attrition will not work," Shmyhal said.
