The reform of the food procurement system for the army, carried out by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, will lead, in particular, to lower prices for meat supplied to military units. This was reported by Mykola Babenko, executive director of the Meat Industry Association, in an exclusive commentary to UNN.
"Yes, we are involved in discussing the procedures by which these purchases will be made.
There are different opinions in different industries. As for our industry, the proposed reform will obviously lead to cheaper products to be supplied," Babenko said.
He added that due to certain specifics, manufacturers of some other products had to contact intermediaries.
"But not everyone, for example, manufacturers in other industries have the opportunity to give delays in the delivery of products, as the current system provides. For many, the existence of intermediaries was convenient in terms of work. But provided that all payments are made in accordance with the contract, then yes, it will be cheaper," Babenko said.
To recap,
