The US believes that Russia's veto of the continuation of the work of the UN sanctions monitoring group against North Korea shows how Russia is fulfilling its part of the deal in exchange for weapons from North Korea for the war against Ukraine.

Russia's veto in the UN Security Council against the extension of the UN Security Council Panel of Experts on sanctions against North Korea shows how Russia is fulfilling its part of the deal in exchange for weapons from the DPRK. This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller during a briefing on April 1, UNN reports.

I think it's clear here that what happened is that Russia made a deal with the DPRK in exchange for the DPRK arming it in the war against Ukraine. And now we see Russia fulfilling its part of the deal

- Miller said, commenting on Russian opposition to the extension of the term of the UN Security Council panel of experts on sanctions against the DPRK.

According to him, the United States is "incredibly concerned" that Russia opposed the extension. He added that this is a commission whose work had previously been extended unanimously. "Unfortunately, Russia and China decided to use their veto," the State Department spokesman said.

When asked how the sanctions will be imposed in the future for North Korea's nuclear and missile test violations, Miller said that "we still have the full range of sanctions on North Korea, and we will continue to enforce them.
