On December 14, 2023, at approximately 16 hours. 20, during an air alert announced due to a Russian missile attack on the capital, an 11-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy tried to get to a shelter in a school in the Sviatoshynskyi district of Kyiv.
According to the prosecutor's office, when the guard saw that the children were with a dog, he did not allow them to enter the shelter, despite the obvious threat to their lives due to the missile attack.
Under the procedural guidance of the juvenile prosecutors of the Sviatoshyno District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, a pre-trial investigation was launched into the deliberate abandonment of children who were in a life-threatening condition and were deprived of the opportunity to take measures to save themselves (part 1 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
