"No information on deliberate attacks against Allies": NATO responds to the downing of a Russian drone in Romania

Against the backdrop of the fall of the Russian "Shahed" in Romania, NATO once again strongly condemned Russia's attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and along the Danube.

NATO believes that the crash of a Russian drone in Romania, i.e. on the territory of an Alliance member, was not intentional. This was stated by NATO acting spokesman Dylan White, UNN reports.

Details

NATO has no information to indicate any deliberate attacks by Russia against Allies. We are continuing to monitor the situation and remain in close contact with Romanian authorities

- White said in a statement.

He also on behalf of the Alliance "strongly condemned" Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine and along the Danube.

To recap,

As reported, on Thursday night, a Shahed drone went down on Romanian territory, near the border with Ukraine, four kilometers from the town of Grindu.

A 1.5-meter crater was found at the crash site. The air force has scrambled F-16 and Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft to monitor the area.

Subsequently, the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Russian Ambassador to Bucharest Valery Kuzmin in connection with the incident.
